Campy Creatures

Created by Keymaster Games

Choose your creature, outwit your opponents, capture the Mortals. It's a ghoulish game of bluffing and deduction for 2–5 players. It's fun for Mortals ages 8+ and plays in 20–30 minutes.

Warming Up, Posters, and a Hint at What’s to Come

Warming Up with Some Stretching

Hey you, you’ve done it! You helped us reached our first Stretch Goal :) This means all cards in the game will be ivory-core with a linen finish. In layman terms, they’ll feel oh so nice to the touch. These will be the same type of cards used in Control—which has received compliments of card sleeves being unnecessary due to the quality. Thanks for helping us get here. We're chatting with out manufacturer about other potential goals based on some great thoughts in the comments.

Posters Incoming

We’ll be adding posters to the campaign reward levels as soon as we get the art mockups. The poster will be 8 x 10 inch giclée prints on archival paper. Again layman terms, the print is high quality—almost seeming like it's been painted—and the paper is nicely textured and able to hold the print for a very long time. Josh Emrich (our illustrator) had the brilliant idea of updating each creature with campy flavor text to give the posters a more cinematic feel. All creatures will be available and we'll have a few different reward levels to choose from (Single, Triple, or the Complete Set of Nine).

Josh will also be making high-quality / true-to-the-genre movie-sized posters which will be available through his site, but not this campaign. He would love it if you could help him figure out which three creatures should become these type of prints. Note: The campaign will have all creatures available—but only these large collector's edition posters will have three different creatures to choose from. You can vote here

Something’s Brewing

We can't wait to share some exciting news early next week. Keymaster has partnered with another company to bring Campy Creatures into an entirely different medium... that should pair well with the game ;) We believe both these posters and the upcoming news should give the campaign some nice momentum to ensure all goals are reached. We'll share more soon along with some pics...

Until then stay classy,
Kyle and Mattox

The Big Announcement(s)

No industry is safe! Campy Creatures will make their way onto tart ales

Some of you saw right through our puns and guessed exactly what was coming :) Josh Emrich has helped us partner with Bottle Logic Brewing to produce a series of tart ales with Campy Creatures on them. Some of Josh's work for them actually made our moodboard for Campy Creatures when we were considering artists, so it feels a little surreal to see this come full circle.

The series will feature limited edition Tart Ales released as small batch 16 oz. cans throughout 2017. The Invader will naturally be first doing what he does best with more creatures to follow. Each ale should pair quite nicely with the game, so stay on the lookout for more news as we can share. We are unbelievably excited to say the least!

Did somebody say posters?

Posters reward levels have been added to the campaign! Campy phrases have been written to replace the strength and abilities on these 8 x 10 inch giclée prints (high-quality paper and print process). We’ve also sought try to make international shipping as affordable as possible for these with the game. Head over to the campaign where you can check out all the posters and update your pledge if you’d like. Here are the breakdown of reward levels:

  • $35 - Single Poster with the Game (Your choice of creature)
  • $60 - Three Posters with the Game (Your choice of creatures)
  • $120 - The Complete Set of Nine Posters with the Game (One of each creature)

A heads up for the collectors out there: Josh will also have 18 x 24 inch signed prints on his site soon. The first series of three will include: The Swamp Creature, The Vampire, and The Beast. You'll be able to pick up one for $50, or all three for $120. Thank you for voting as it helped him figure out what to include in each series of three!

We’re working on a free companion app

When we teased the news last week, this wasn’t even on our radar... but some comments predicted that the reveal might be a companion app for Campy Creatures. We couldn’t believe we hadn’t considered this! So, we’re going to make a simple app where players can adjust the Clash-O-Meter and track their scores. We might even have to add some spooky atmospheric music (which can be turned on or off when playing). We’re shooting to have this available on Android and iOS devices when the game launches in August.

We also love the fact that the app makes the game ultra-portable as you no longer will need the board and pieces—just the cards. That’s it for now. Thanks again for all your great ideas and how you've shared the campaign. Keep up the good work. We have some other exciting ideas we’ve been discussing with our manufacturer that we hope to share soon.

Cheers,
Kyle and Mattox

Crazier than a Mad Scientist!

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! You’re crazy. We had no idea what to expect when we hit the launch button and now we can't believe our eyes. In under 27 hours, we’re already funded! Our goal was double what our last campaign was, but thanks to you we funded in half the time. What!? We’re doing a little funded dance to celebrate.

Mortals Will Be Illustrated

A few of you have asked if the Mortal cards will have illustrations. Yes, Our illustrator Josh Emrich is working on the illustrations for the Mortals and we release the finalized images during the campaign.

Prints and Shirts

There has been some interest in prints and shirts of the creatures. Josh is also working on these and they will be available in the future through the Emrich Office. You might see a poll in the near future about what creature you’d want to see most on a poster (or all of 'em).

Stretch Goals

We’re on our way to hitting our first Stretch Goal soon. Thanks to some great comments, we got some ideas on how to spice up the goals more. This will require us talking with our manufacturer and Josh, so all we can say right now are the ideas are brewing.

Print-n-Play

You can access the Print-N-Play for free with link below. If you end up playing during the campaign, we’d love to hear about it and see pics! #CampyCreatures We’ve play tested the game extensively, but if something is still confusing or doesn't feel right, we want to know. Feel free to message or email us any feedback or thoughts.

Thank you for the amazing support. We’ll talk soon.
